K-12 Program

St. Rita School for the Deaf educates any student that has a communication need where sign language or augmentative communication might be of benefit.  This can include students who are Deaf, hard-of-hearing or Deaf-Blind and students with apraxia, autism, or Down Syndrome.  Helping students develop meaningful communication is the foundation of St. Rita School for the Deaf.

IEP teams consisting of parents, district representatives, outside support agencies, intervention specialists, general education teachers, and related services staff work together to create individualized education programs designed to meet the unique needs of each student.

Classes are kept small to meet the needs of diverse learning styles and give each student individual attention.

Teachers use visual aids and hands-on experiences to teach students about math, literacy, science, technology, social studies, and language.

St. Rita School is chartered by the state of Ohio and is accredited by the Ohio Catholic Schools Accrediting Association.

We lay a foundation not just for higher education, but for community service by participating in projects within the school and the community.

Graduates of St. Rita School for the Deaf will demonstrate the knowledge, skills, competency and self-esteem to achieve fulfilling personal lives and careers. Empowered with a positive identity, they will possess the confidence, discipline, leadership and productivity that will enable them to become contributing members in society.

We are committed to the highest quality education for your child, and to a safe learning environment. We will nurture your child to instill a positive self-image with a passion for lifelong learning. We have complete faith in every child’s ability to learn and grow!
